Terry Castle celebrates 60 years, 25 with city
Terry Castle celebrates 60 years, 25 with city
August 27, 2008 8:09 pm

The Utility Department of the city of Arlington Public Works Division recently held a party for employee Terry Castle, who celebrated his 60th birthday as well as his 25th anniversary with the city of Arlington. Born in Illinios in 1948, his family moved out west and he has been here in Washington ever since. Castle is a wonderful leader and teacher to those of us lucky enough to know him, said Virgil Renfroe, lead collection system specialist at the utilities department. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and his desire to do the right thing for the citizens of Arlington has been his main goal in all his years of service, Renfroe said. Castle began working for the city of Arlington in 1973, reading water meters and performing general public works maintenance. He worked his way up to become the utilities superintendent, leading the department for many years. He is now Utilities Project Manager, cutting back a bit before his retirement in a year or two. We are all very proud of Terry, Renfroe said. It is our privilege to work with him.
