SMOKEY POINT Snohomish County Clerk candidates Sonya Kraski and Bob Dantini are headed to the general elections in November, while fellow candidate Ron Ledford is out of the race.
MARYSVILLE The race for Snohomish County Sheriff saw Lt. Rob Beidler defeated in his bid to replace his boss, Rick Bart, who cant run for a fourth term due to term limits. Democratic State Rep. John Lovick of Mill Creek topped the trio on the Aug. 21 ballot with 38 percent of the 78,000 votes cast; deputy chief Tom Greene followed with 34 percent, and Beidler was knocked out with 26 percent.
SMOKEY POINT A registered sex offender is living in Smokey Point and the Snohomish County Sheriffs Office will be mailing notifications to the community, but they do not currently plan to meet with the community to answer questions about him.

The Arlington Times recently sent out a survey to the candidates for city and county offices in the upcoming elections, from the Arlington City Council to the Snohomish County Executive. All of the candidates vying for the same office were asked the same questions. ARLINGTON Tri-agency emergency management planning was discussed by the Cascade Valley Hospital and Clinics Board of Directors Oct. 17, as representatives of the city of Arlington and the Arlington School District and Fire Department submitted a proposed salary for a full-time emergency manager position.
