ARLINGTON – The city will accept applications for U.S. passports starting Sept. 5, a close to home, convenient option for people getting ready to travel.

Applications will be taken from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The service is by appointment only to ensure that finance department staff can help customers with processing, officials said.

While the city has became an acceptance agency for U.S. Passport Services like several other cities, the service applies to new applications only. Passport renewals are done exclusively by mail, officials said.
