ARLINGTON — The Washington State Department of Transportation has determined that the traffic signal and some of the driving lanes at the intersection of state routes 9 and 531 will need to be shifted during the week of Sept. 16-22 to make room for roundabout construction.

Both lanes of State Route 531, a.k.a. 172nd Street NE, where they connect with State Route 9 will be shifted to the north, and the signal will also be shifted north to align with those lanes. This will create room for crews to continue pouring concrete and building the southwest corner of the roundabout.

According to WSDOT, other than the lanes and signal being shifted to slightly different locations, the changes shouldn’t affect traffic too much.
