ARLINGTON — A suspect in a recent Arlington bank robbery has been identified and arrested.

Navey Erlene Skinner, a 34-year-old woman who frequents the Everett area, is suspected of entering the Chase Bank branch in the 500 block of N. Olympic Avenue in Arlington on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, and presenting a robbery note that threatened violence if the bank teller did not comply with her demands.

Arlington Police responded at the scene at approximately 2:35 p.m., within three minutes of the 911 call shortly after the suspect fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police were unable to locate the suspect at the time, but crime scene investigators were able to collect items of evidence that ultimately assisted in identifying the suspect.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white woman in her mid-30s to mid-40s, standing between 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a thin build, sunken cheeks and shoulder-length brown hair.

Skinner was born on April 18, 1977, stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, and has hazel eyes and brown or blonde hair. She has a tattoo on the back of her neck and has been described as “drugged out” to law enforcement.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, Jan. 4, Arlington Assistant City Administrator Kristin Banfield reported that Tacoma Police had arrested Skinner, and that Arlington Police detectives were headed to Tacoma to pick her up so that she could be booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
