Finally, on Thursday crews will be closing up to two right lanes of northbound I-5 from 7 p.m. until 8 a.m. Friday, July 2.

The project — a two-lane loop ramp from westbound SR 531 to southbound I-5 — is part of a $23.5 million Washington State Department of Transportation project that officials said will improve access to and from I-5.

According to WSDOT, more than 40,000 vehicles use the SR 531 (172nd Street NE)/I-5 interchange each day.

Crews are expected to complete the project this summer, said Meghan Soptich Pembroke of WSDOT.
