Allan Herbert Albers

Allan Herbert Albers was born Oct. 10, 1917, and died Feb. 25, 2007.
He was a shriner, Master Mason, World War II RCAF veteran, yachtsman, golfer, insurance engineer and raconteur. A man who enjoyed a little travelin music, boom man, handsome SOB, bike racer, milk shake enthusiast, martini maker, cowboy and equestrian. And most importantly, a husband, a son, a father, a grandfather and a friend.
In 1939, Allan Met the most beautiful and wonderful blonde and was in love at first sight and never did lose my love for her. He married Dolores Brown, on June 28, 1941, and for the next 60 years, until her passing, she would be his rock. Every man should be so lucky. Together they raised two beautiful daughters, instilling in them a great sense of equity, decency and passion for life.
In 1980 Allan retired from Kemper Insurance after a successful, well-traveled and fulfilling career as an Electrical and Fire Protection Engineer. But he did not retire from life, devoting the next 27 years to his family, boating, golfing, traveling and recounting to posterity the extraordinary details of his youth, to his always eager-to-listen grandson.
After losing his beloved wife, Lol in 2001, Allan was blessed to find Bonita Hubbard, who was to be a loving companion and friend through the twilight.
Allan is survived by his two daughters: Carolyn Kelley and Gail Ott; grandchildren, Ryan and Juliette Kelley; great-grandson, Cody McLeod; and companion, Bonita Hubbard.
