Anthony Lawrence Martin

Anthony Tony Lawrence Martin, life-long resident of the Seattle/Tulalip, area crossed over on Dec. 18, 2006, surrounded by many family and friends.
Born May 3, 1966 in Seattle, Tony graduated from Ingram High School and went on to become a well known house painter.
Tony loved traveling with his family and helping others with spiritual and traditional work within our community and many others. He spent many hours as a youth advocate and basketball coach and was well respected by the Tribal youth. He was a teacher by nature and had the patience to help even the most stubborn because nobody was more stubborn than Tony. To Tony the best way to spend a day was walking on the beach hand in hand with his family while the eagles soared above head. Tony was well loved and respected by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He was the best dad ever.
Tony was preceded in death by his grandmother, Will Mae Biddle; uncles, George Martin Sr., and Ben Martin; and cousins, Matthew Martin and George Martin Jr.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 18 years, Summer Lee; son, Anthony James; daughters, Destiny and Eternity; parents, Shirley Martin, James C. and Audrey Martin; brothers, Andre Martin and Michael Mayberry; sister, Leslie Martin; uncles, Lester and Dolores Martin and Lawrence Martin; aunts Mary Dyer, Johnnie Mae White, Minnie Martin and Albey Martin; and many cousins who will miss his big ol smile.
There was a breakfast at 9 a.m., a funeral service at noon, on Dec. 23, 2006, at the Tulalip gym, followed by a memorial gathering and dinner. Arrangements under the direction of Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.
