Barbara Ann Ohlemeier

Eternity claimed another soul on Sunday morning, Dec. 10, 2006, when Barbara Ann Ohlemeier passed away.
Born up along the creek north of Gordon, Neb., on March 10, 1914, Barbara was the second daughter of Dayrold and Dora Sipp. She was raised in and around Gordon until she was 18 when she met and married Robert Ohlemeier.
Courtesy of a regional wheat combining company, a construction outfit and finally 26 years with Uncle Sam, Bob and Barbara traveled the United States and Europe. Over the next 30 years, the country was crossed six times and three boys were born and raised. Bob and Barbara settled in Arlington, Wash. in 1979. Bob went to work for Jim Creek Naval Station and Barbara continued her passion for helping people. She became immersed in the Arlington Food Bank and the Helping Hands organization. She served in a variety of roles and was a strong spokesperson as the programs expanded and grew.
Barbara was preceded in death by Bob, in 2001.
She leaves behind an elder sister, Dixie Franklin; two younger sisters, Clarabelle and Lucille Sipp, all of Gordon; her three boys, Wayne, his wife, Donna and children, Kent, Jenn, and Eric, Richard and his wife, Elisa and children, Ryan and Jillian, and Greg will all miss her very much.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at Grace Bible Church, Marysville. A reception followed at the church. A private interment was held during the week at Arlington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Arlington Food Bank and Helping Hands, Arlington.
