Bettie Ann Porter

Bettie Ann Porter, 82, of Marysville, Wash., passed away Jan. 15, 2008, at An Angels Touch AFH in Marysville.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1925, to Charles Henry and Myrtle Cecilia (Frederickson) Randall in Everett, Wash.
Bettie married Mitchell Wallace Porter on Sept. 27, 1946, in Ashland, Ken. Bettie and Mitch lived in Florida and Alaska as Mitch served in the Navy and raised their three daughters in Everett, Oak Harbor, Guam and Marysville. Bettie worked at Wellers Chalet Restaurant in Arlington, Wash., for many years.
Bettie was a devoted wife and mother, nurturing grandmother and faithful friend. An avid gardener and baker, she loved to read, quilt and spend time with her family and close friends. Bettie will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity and great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who had the wonderful privilege of knowing her.
Bettie is survived by her three daughters, Jackie (and Dennis) Mullins, of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Debbie (and Gary) Rygg, of Stanwood, Wash.; and Jayne Rainwater, of Arlington; her four grandchildren, Allison (and Brett) Reid, of Stanwood, Matthew (and Michelle) Rygg, of Vancouver, Wash.; Erin Rygg, of Stanwood; and Christal Rainwater, of Everett; her three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Blake and Brayden Reid, of Stanwood; her brother, Charles Randall, of Los Angeles, Calif.; her sister-in-law, Gayle Porter, of Columbus, Ohio; and longtime friend, Harriett Trout, of Marysville.
Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell; father and mother, Charles Randall and Myrtle Poulson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Pearl Porter; son-in-law, Pat Rainwater; and brother-in-law, Gamble Porter.
The family had a Celebration of Life at 1 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at Purdy and Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home, Everett.
