Beverly Ann Rothrock

Beverly Ann Rothrock, age 68, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010, at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington.

Bev was born February 1, 1942, in Port Townsend, Washington, to Robert and Mildred (Arey) Minish, and grew up and attended school in Port Townsend. There, in 1958, she met Gene A. “Rock” Rothrock, who was in the Coast Guard, and they were married January 23, 1959.

Bev was a former Lady Elk of Port Townsend Lodge #317, and member of the Elks RV Club. She was active as a Den Mother and Committee Member of the Cub Scouts in Marysville and Port Townsend. She taught CCD at Catholic Churches in Port Townsend, Seattle and Morrow Bay, California, and she was currently attending Immaculate Conception Parish in Arlington. She was a chaperone and Queen Mother of the Marysville Strawberry Festival, traveling with the float. She was active in YMCA with children, and women’s exercise programs until she suffered health issues. All her grandchildren were her treasures; she energetically enjoyed spending her hours participating and attending Brittany and Nicholas’ activities. Her sister Carolyn was a special part of her life. Even though in pain, she continued to donate time to the children of Pioneer Elementary school in Arlington, Washington. Children were her passion.

Bev is survived by her husband of 51 years, “Rock”; son, Gene A. “Nick” Rothrock, Jr. and his wife Jolynn, of Arlington; daughter, L. Rene’ Brown and her husband Steve, of Port Townsend; son Gilbert Wilkins and his wife Joyce, of Port Orchard; son Kevin Wilkins and his wife Rae Lynn, of Moses Lake; three sisters and one brother; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and six nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass was said by Father Jim Dalton, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Church, 1200 E. 5th St., Arlington, Washington. Memorial donations are recommended to the YMCA Summer Camp Scholarship Program. Please share your memories of Bev and sign the online guest register at www.lemleychapel.com
