Diane Carol Selia (Baxter)

Diane Carol Selia (Baxter), loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, was born November 17, 1952, in Everett, Washington, and went home to Heaven on April 10, 2011, following a short, courageous battle with cancer. Diane graduated Marysville High School in 1971 and enjoyed playing the clarinet and oboe in the band.

On June 23, 1972, Diane married the love of her life, Ronald Selia, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and they lived a very fulfilling life, raising their four children in Marysville. Diane worked for the Marysville School District and the Everett Clinic. She is survived by her husband Ronald, her four children, Andrea (Jason), Steven (Amy), Amy and Scott. Diane is also survived by her five grandchildren, Dylan Selia-Pettit, Ryan Pettit, Stephanie, Brady and Sarah Selia. Also surviving Diane are her parents, Ken and Joann Baxter, her forever loving sister, Marianne (Michael), and her brothers, Kevin and Gary (Jan). Diane also has many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and extended family who will always remember her.

Diane was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Grace Baxter, Arthur Baxter, Richard Ulrich, Dick and Merle Boden, and her in–laws, Norma Shuhart and William Selia Sr.

Diane loved spending time with her family and dancing with her grandchildren. She loved decorating her home for every occasion. Diane also loved vacationing in Mexico with her family and we will always remember the fun times we had together.

Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marysville on April 30, 2011 at 8:00 a.m., followed by an open house Celebration of Life from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Baxter Senior Center. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations to the Providence Cancer Partnership.

Our heartfelt thank you to all the nurses at Providence Medical Center, especially her guardian angel, Vicki, who took it upon themselves to embrace our family in our time of need. We will always be grateful for your compassion. For more information, please send an email to kenjoan@comcast.net
