Genevieve Clare Jelinek

We will never forget the loss of Genevieve Clare Jelinek, as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin or friend who we all lost on May 2, 2007.
Genevieve loved her family and leaves behind her husband, Clyde, whom she married on Oct. 2, 1958; sons, Clyde Jr. and John; daughter-in-laws, Karen and Marianne respectively; grandchildren, Michael of John and Danielle, Derek and Lauren of Clyde and Karen; brothers, Jerome and Francis Foley, and their wives, Loretta and Anne respectively; and her sister-in-law, Yolanda Foley; cousin, Marylee Morrison; mother-in-law, Doris Jelinek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born April 19, 1942, in Trenton, N.J., she had three older brothers.
She married Clyde in 1958, had two sons she cared for while Clyde served his country in the U.S.A.F. for 20 years. She then settled with her family in Sultan, Wash., in 1975.
She supported the community and volunteered extraordinary amounts of time to being an EMT for the volunteer Sultan Fire Department and also as an aide in the Emergency Room in Everett and Monroe, Wash. She then became a Registered Nurse working in the emergency room in Monroe and retired around 1997.
She continued to support the community in many projects that are far too many to name. In 1986, she became a grandmother for the first time and eventually had five grandchildren she absolutely loved and adored, this was one of her true pride and joys that she cherished. She loved them so much and was so proud of every accomplishment each of them achieved.
Genevieve was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend you could ever imagine. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sultan Fire Department Air Fund, as this type of giving back to the community is one of the things that made her so special.
A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2007, at St. Anns in Tulalip, Wash.
