John Frederick Smith, loving husband, brother, father of seven, grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of one, passed away on Dec. 2, 2006.
John is survived by his children, J, Rhoda, Rachel, Jason, James, Rebecca, Ramona.
Our father was a very charismatic gentleman. He loved life and had a passion for music that was remarkable. He was in fact a musical genius and to our everlasting joy we were blessed to have inherited some of his wonderful talent.
He shared his joys with his family. We will remember the times he snuck up behind us kids when we were very little and screamed, Great balls of fire.
Or when he took us to the flying field to watch the planes soar through the sky, telling us he was searching for the rainbows end and could look a lot farther if he was up high with his radar eyes thank you for the laughter and thank you for teaching us that love that can cross a chasm so wide you cant see the other side. Theres a bridge between hearts that suspends us high above our troubles and holds us and protects us so that we dont fall through life. Thank you for everything you gave to us. Thank you for showing us what real love is.
From all seven of us, we will keep you in our hearts close to momma. Until we meet again in paradise we will just have to miss you. Goodbye dad.
