Lois Eva Carter

Lois Eva Carter, of Arlington, Wash., passed away Dec. 3, 2007, with her family by her side.
Born Nov. 9, 1925, in Memphis, Tenn., she was the fourth of nine children of Elbert and Eva Womack.
Known as Peggy to her family, Lois was raised in North Carolina. Lois served honorably in the United States Air Force where she met her sweetie, Jerome Carter. They were married nearly 55 years and raised their six children in Everett, Wash.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome; daughters, Mary (Bob) Jones, Pam (Brian Wells) Cramer, Vicki (Steve) Potts, and Diane (Mike) Martin; and sons, Marlo (Dianne) Carter and Joel (Betty Martin) Carter. Lois also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and seven (soon to become nine) great-grandchildren. Lois four remaining sisters and her numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law also mourn her passing.
A true Southern charmer, Lois made friends everywhere she went.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
