Maxine Elizabeth Dixon

Maxine Elizabeth Dixon passed away April 3, 2007, in Oak Harbor, Wash.
She was born in Detroit Lakes, Minn., May 19, 1908, to Alex and Caroline McDougal.
Maxine, her parents and sisters, Irene and Marjorie where her dad had a job as a clerk at the Tulalip Indian Agency and her mother taught sewing at the agency school. She had many fond memories of growing up at the Tulalip Agency.
Maxine married John Dixon, a well-known teacher and coach in Marysville, Wash.
He preceded her in death in 1946.
She was a long-time resident of Marysville and was a school secretary at Liberty School for 20 years.
Maxine had been a member of St. Anns Catholic Church (Tulalip), St. Marys Church (Marysville) and Immaculate Conception (Everett) where she was very active as a member.
Maxine leaves daughter, Sue and husband Don Swendsen, of Oak Harbor; grandson, John Swendsen, of Marysville; great-granddaughters, Alicia and Katie, of Marysville; and great-great-granddaughter, Caylin Rojas.
She was a grand lady and will be missed by many.
