Richard Russell McCall

Richard Dick R. McCall, 66, was born to Harry Russell and Dorothy Mae (Eckert) McCall on Dec.19, 1940, in Albert Lea, Minn., and he entered into rest on July 20, 2007, in Sedro-Woolley Wash., with his loving family at his side.
Dick served his country in the U.S. Navy on the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Independence as a Pipe fitter and Fireman. He worked for many years as a Journeyman Machinist, retiring in 1984. Dick moved to Darrington in 1997. He enjoyed carpentry, collecting coins and country music.
Dick is survived by his loving family, father Harry R. McCall of Farmington, Minn.; sons Ryan W. McCall of Phoenix, Ariz., Randy R. McCall of Everett, Wash.; daughter Sheree L. Stoothoff and her husband Chad of Port Angeles, Wash.; grandchildren Lily A. Stoothoff, Isaiah A. Stoothoff, Nicholas G. McCall and Jack W. McCall; sister Cheryl Berczyk and her husband Larry of Prior Lake, Minn.; and life-long friend Keith Burris.
He was predeceased by his mother and a sister, Diana Lange.
A private nicheside service will be held for Dick at Tahoma National Cemetery in Auburn, Wash.
In lieu of floral tributes, Dicks family suggests that memorials in his name be made to the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley, Sedro-Woolley, Wash.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Affordable Burial & Cremation Services, LLC of Mount Vernon.
Cards of condolence may be sent to the family in care of the funeral home.
