Virgil Frey was born Dec. 5, 1940 in Herman, Minn. and died on July 4, 2009 in Mesquite, Nev.

Virg was the only son of Joe and Sadie Frey and was brother to Evelyn, Josephine, Paulette and Mary Jo.

Virg graduated from Arlington High School in 1959 where he excelled in sports.

He proudly served his country as a Military Policeman in the Army from 1960-1963 and was a member of the 298th MP Company.

Virg married Linda Sass in 1964 and they had two daughters, Connie (Don) Piccoli of Durango Colo. and Jonna (Chris) Crespin of Grand Junction, Colo.

He leaves grandchildren Levi and Amanda Crespin and Ryan and Rachel Piccoli. Virgil married Sheila Jansen in 1996 and they lived in Mesquite, Nev., where he worked as a security guard at the Players Island Casablanca Casino before his retirement in 2008.

A memorial service was held in Grand Junction, Colo.
