Walter Richard Nielson Jr., known by family and friends as Wally or Randy, went home quietly with his beloved dog Brooke at his side, on Nov. 29, 2007, at his home in Stanwood, Wash.
He was born on March 21, 1959, to Walter Nielson and Sandra Jacobsen (Nielson) in Mt. Vernon, Wash., on a very special day as both his dad and aunts birthday were on that day also.
He moved back to Stanwood four years ago as he liked this community for all the kindness they showed to him and because most of his family lived here.
He was passionate about everything he did, his greatest joys in life was his family.
He loved being an uncle and was a great son and brother. He made friends easily with his smile he loved his two dogs, Brookeginna and Sabastian as they were a big part of his life. Walter was an avid Arkansas Razorback and NASCAR (Jeff Gordon, 24) fan. He was a talented artist and writer. He always looked forward to a fun family night of poker.
He leaves his parents, Sandra (Spencer) Jacobsen and Walter Nielson; one sister and brother-in-law, Vickie (Mike) Lee; one brother, Gordon Nielsen; nieces, Michelle and Taylor; nephew, Maison; and one great-nephew, Jordin, all of Stanwood; many uncles and aunts and cousins, along with many friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David; and all of his grandparents.
Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Dec. 7, 2007, at Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel. Private burial will be held at Anderson Cemetery, Stanwood. Memorial Contributions may be given to N.O.A.H. Animal Adoption Center, 31300 Brandstrom Road, Stanwood, WA 98292
