The Globe and The Times working to keep our communities informed of local news and litter free

When I first arrived on the scene three months ago, our circulation distribution had recently changed from paid mail subscription to a free carrier delivered product. This change increased our circulation ten-fold as well as introducing a new carrier delivery system. And with our new carrier delivery system we experienced many bumps and hurdles; readers receiving multiple papers, while others stopped receiving any papers. We also addressed a major concern from some of our readers about the appearance of littering throughout our communities.

We are continuing to install newspaper tubes, train our carrier force and respond to customers’ service requests. In the past two weeks we have succeeded at filling all our carrier routes. A tremendous amount of credit for this goes to Kim Hall, our new circulation manager. Kim will continue to train carriers, monitor our delivery process and return all service calls. This last is very important to us. We realize how overwhelming the problem had become and pledge to work hard to regain our readers’ trust in resolving any service issues. I personally apologize for any frustrations due to our past inability to return all phone calls and address issues.

We strive to provide local community news that is relevant to your daily lives.
