The cities of Arlington and Marysville are going with local businesses and community groups to present a trio of fun-filled Easter events for the entire family.
In Arlington, the city has joined with Arlington Firefighters Local 3728, the Downtown Merchants Association and the Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce to offer two Easter Egg hunts on April 7.
Both events will separate the children into four ages groups 0-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12, and will feature 5,000 eggs filled with candy and small toys. There will also be two prizes per age group that will include an Easter basket and gift certificates. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance at both events and the fire department will be providing drinks and cookies.
The first event will be at Terrace Park, beginning at 11 a.m., on April 7. The second event begins at 3 p.m. at Weston High School, at the southwest corner of the Arlington Airport. Last year, despite a burst of rainfall, the events drew hundreds of families with children of all ages enjoying themselves.
In Marysville, the city has teamed with the Marysville Rotary and Grandview Village to present its annual Easter Egg hunt which will be held April 7, 10-11 a.m., in Jennings Memorial Park. Thousands of eggs will be available for the children, who will be separated into three age groups 0-2, 3-5 and 6-8 and who can collect up to eight eggs each. In addition there will be balloon twisters and the Easter Bunny is expected to make an appearance.
Based on the success of previous years Easter Egg hunts in Arlington and Marysville, the events on April 7 should be a great time for the entire family. The cities and their partners should be commended and thanked for putting on these timely community events.
