3 local golfers qualify for state

Two locals boys and one local girl qualified for state at their respective district golf tournaments Tuesday.

Matt Allen of Marysville-Pilchuck and Alex Coghill of Arlington qualified for state at the 3A District 1 Championship at Avalon Golf Links.

Allen shot a 78 his first round and 82 his second for a combined total of 160. Coghill shot an 88-81 for a 169 two-day total. Everett placed first and Snohomish third so their entire teams will go. Allen and Coghill were in the top eight of other golfers to qualify.

In the 2A District 1/2 Championship at Skagit Golf and Country Club, Malia Schroeder of Lakewood shot an 81-83 for a 164 two-day total to qualify for state.
