AHS girls tennis tops Mount Vernon

Arlington girls tennis hosted the Mount Vernon Bulldogs on March 29, and the Eagles earned their second victory of the season in the 7-0 win.

Arlington girls tennis hosted the Mount Vernon Bulldogs on March 29,  and the Eagles earned their second victory of the season in the 7-0 win.

Macy Mackey beat Brooke Emory 6-1 in two matches. McKenna Prause lost one match to Svea Love, 2-6, but returned to win 6-3 and 6-4. Sierra DeCota lost one match to Hannah Levine 5-7, but won the next two. Bianca Carlson beat Abbi Zeiger 6-2 and 7-5.

In doubles, Maya Manzano and Sally Hatfield beat Jenna Moores and Paige Gear 6-3 and 6-2.

Hannah Scarth and Jacey Wreggelsworth lost their first match to Ali Long and Elyse Lankford, but were victorious in the last two with 7-5.

Sonia Lopez and Madison Taylor beat Addi Sager and Jamie Heiner 6-2 and 6-3.

This win followed a 7-0 loss to fellow 4A North school Snohomish on March 28.

The Eagles are now 2-4 for the season.
