Arlington girls beat M-P in basketball

ARLINGTON

Girls basketball

The Eagles won at M-P Tuesday 68-10. Freshman Jenna Villa scored 16 and sophomore Keira Marsh 11 for the victors. Lauren Lewis talled 7 in a losing effort.

The Eagles continued to dominate opponents Thursday, winning a non-league game against Renton 65-37. Hailey Hiatt had 17 and Keira Marsh 17.

Boys basketball

The Eagles fell to Edmonds-Woodway 67-57 Monday. Ethan Martin scored 19 in a losing effort.

Boys wrestling

Dorian Tollenaar won Outstanding Wrestler honors at the Jaguar Invitational at Emerald Ridge High School Saturday. He won all four matches by pin, including the championship one with three seconds left, at 113 pounds. At 120 pounds, Casten Tollenaar tied for third, and Trevor Latta was second at 138 pounds. The Eagles went to Oak Harbor Thursday and beat the home team 52-21. At 113 pounds, Eric Vogel pinnned his foe in 3 minutes, 26 seconds. Dorian Tollenaar followed with a 10-2 major decision victory at 120. Casten Tollenaar won a 16-1 technical fall at 126 pounds. At 138, Latta won by forfeit. Dimitri Shaffer then won by pin in 2:29 at 145 pounds. Gabe Price won by a 15-4 major decision at 152. At 170, Rylan Polkinghorn won by pin in 2:53. After Dawson Reed won by forfeit at 182, Gabe Vickers won a 5-3 decision in the best match of the night at 192. Connor Stockman capped off the Arlington scoring with a forfeit win at 220 pounds.

Girls wrestling

The Eagles were ninth at a tourney at Mariner High School. Tailer Cochran was first at 130 pounds with teammate Hanna Crew tied for fifth at that same weight class. Souzanna Crew tied for fifth at 170 pounds. MARYSVILLE

Boys basketball

Monday, MG beat Shorewood 52-39 behind Malakhi Knight’s 32 points. Josiah Koellmer added 10.

Saturday, Cameron Stordahl scored 27 points to lead the Tommies over Mountlake Terrace 67-60. Ethan Jackson and Luke Dobler tallied 12 each. M-P also whipped Oak Harbor 78-37 Friday.

MG beat up on Everett 69-50, clinching it by outscoring the home team 19-7 in the final quarter. Knight led the way with 29, and Koellmer had 18.

Girls basketball

Tuesday, Stanwood took a 15-4 first-period lead then held on to beat the visiting Chargers 38-30. Freshman Ellie Jackson led the team in a losing effort with 14.

Monday, MG beat Shorewood 35-22. Jackson led the way with 15. The home team held the visitors to one point in the final quarter, while scoring 11, to clinch the win.

M-P lost 65-15 to Mountlake Terrace Saturday.

MG and M-P both lost in games Thursday night.

MG fell to Everett 45-37, while the Tomahawks lost to Oak Harbor 58-25.

The Chargers trailed only by two at the end of three quarters in their loss. Maddy Grandbois led them with 12 points. Faith Sherman and Alexus Atkins had 8 each.

In the M-P game, Lauren Lewis led the squad with 14 points.

Girls wrestling

Freshman Alivia White won a 7-3 decision to take first place at 190 pounds at the Lady Knights Invitational at Mariner High School. M-P was 15th in the team standings. Chelsey Goeden tied for third at 135 pounds.

Boys wrestling

MG fell to Everett 43-27 Tuesday. At 145 pounds, TJ Schwietzberger won by pin in 2:26; at 170 Chris Bonner won a 7-2 decision; At 220 Erick Duenes pinned is foe in 33 seconds; at 285 Cheron Smith’s pin was almost as fast in 47 seconds; at 106 Omar Salcedo won by pin in 1:40; but Everett won the last four matches, three by pin, to take the victory.

Swimming

M-P lost to Mariner 114-63 and Glacier Peak 121-54 and MG lost 106-72 and 122-57 to the same two teams at home Tuesday. They also both lost to Snohomish 126-52 and 128-54.

LAKEWOOD

Girls wrestling

The Cougs tied for 18th in a tourney at Mariner High School. Torrie Blackwood was first at 115 pounds.

Girls basketball

Monday, the Cougars lost to Lynden 69-21.

In a non-league game, the Cougars almost got their second win of the year, falling to Sultan 42-40. They were outscored by four in the final quarter. Katelynn Gundersen had 15, Grace Trichler 10 and Lindsey Fleming 8 in the losing effort.

Boys basketball

The Cougars beat visiting Bellingham 86-50 Thursday. Monday, they lost to Lynden 75-65.
