The Cougars dug themselves in a hole early and couldn’t recover. Six walks, a hit batter, a balk and an error did the damage in the first inning, along with a two-run single.

With one out, Carson Chrisman, Daniel Rye and Matthew Irish each hit the ball hard to rightfield for singles. But then Chrisman was forced out at home. Jaden Motta came up with a walk for an RBI, but that was it.
