LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood boys basketball team defeated Ferndale 60-51 Jan. 3.

Freshman Alex Jensen led with 16 points for the Cougars, and teammate junior Kaleb Duitsman added 11 points and 10 rebounds. Lakewood’s record improved to 2-6.

FERNDALE — Junior Natalie Neer led the Lakewood girls basketball team with 18 points in its 46-43 loss to Ferndale Jan. 3.

Lakewood dropped its record to 4-5.
