MARYSVILLE — The Lakewood boys and girls track teams hosted the Lakewood Twilight, April 29, with both the boys and girls teams coming out on top in the tri-meet.

The Cougars boys tallied a total of 115 points, followed by Sultan who totaled 41 and Coupeville finished third with 11 points. The Lakewood girls also finished in first with 81 points, Sultan was in second with 58 points and Coupeville totaled 41 points.

For the boys, Donovan Evans finished second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.81. Lakewood took first and third in the 200 meters with Andre Scott running a 23.17 and Nolan Bingaman running a 23.97. In the 400 meters, Jake Howe ran a 56.95 to finish in third place. With a time of 2:03.59, Kris Mugrage finished in first place in the 800 meters. Lakewood finished 1-2-3 in the 1,600 meters with Avery Jensen taking first with a time of 4:51.37, followed by Connor Dryer with a time of 4:57.38, and Mitchell Darrah with a time of 4:59.99. In the 3,200 meters, Jensen had a first-pace finish with a time of 11:19.59 and Peter Espinoza came in second with a time of 11:21.35. Lakewood also took the top three spots in the 110 hurdles with Jordan DeGroot running a 17.55, followed by Andrew Stich with a 19.05 and Sawyer Almasi who ran a 19.38. In the 300 hurdles Stich finished in second place with a time of 46.88 and DeGroot finished in third with a time of 47.42.

In the relays, Lakewood claimed first place in the 4×100 with Evans, Scott, Jacob Micheletti and Bingaman running a 45.24. In the 4×400 relay, the team of Tad Burnell, Dreyer, Howe and Mugrage finished in second place with a time of 4:00.93.

In the shot put, David Otte took first place with a throw of 40-00.00, and Tristan Nelson finished in third with 35-08.75. Lakewood again finished 1-2-3 in the discus with Otte at 109-04, followed by Nelson with 97-10 and Dakota Pettingill came in third with 87-04. Connor O’Kinsella took first place in the javelin with 146-02, followed by Evans in second with a throw of 139-11, and Justin Peterson in third with 133-08.

Peterson also claimed first place in the high jump with 5-10. In the pole vault, Sam Kiefer placed first with 9-06.00 followed by Kolani Axthelem with 9-00.00 and Christian Harris was third at 9-00.00. In the long jump, Scott finished in first at 21-11.00 and Peterson finished second with 19-07.00

For the girls, Ariel Jensen placed third in the 100 meters with a time of 13.95. Jensen also claimed first place in the 200 meters with a time of 28.13, followed by Kendall O’Kinsella in second with a time of 28.66 and Adrienne Smith in third place with a time of 28.77. Sara Newman ran to a first-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:53.86, followed by Laena Skiles in second place with a time of 3:04.44. In the 1,600 meters Kelsey Anderson placed first with a time of 5:27.45, followed by Mikaela Skiles in second with a time of 5:55.15. Finishing 1-2-3 in the 3,200 meters were Chelsea Stokes in first at 11:42.53, Rachel Cundy in second at 11:51.28 and Rachel Sowards in third at 12:27.82. In the 100 meter hurdles Ilyssa Haunreiter finished in second at 17.67, followed by Jasmine Sandoval in third with a time of 18.93.

In the relays, Lakewood finished first in the 4×100 with the team of Smith, Taylor Studzinski, Skylar Cannon and Sandoval turning in a time of 56.16.  In the 4×200, Smith, Cannon, Jensen and Dana Arenz finished in third place at 1:55.96. Finishing in second in the 4×400 with a time of 5:15.93 were Anderson, Emily Bainbridge, Charlotte Mack and Celine Espinoza.

In the javelin, Samantha Adams finished in second place with a throw of 108-04, followed in second place by Cannon with a throw of 99-08.

Charnie Dondrea placed first in the high jump at 4-10 followed by Megan Knibbe in second at 4-08. Dondrea also finished in second place in the long jump at 14-07.50. In the pole vault Studzinski and Knibbe tied for second at 7-00.00.

The Lakewood boys and girls teams also competed in the April 30 Tomahawk Classic at Marysville-Pilchuck High School. The boys finished in fourth with 77 points and the girls finished in eighth with 31 points.

For the boys, Scott placed second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.28. Mugrage placed third in the 3,200 meters with a time of 9:55.73. In the 110 hurdles, DeGroot ran a 17.85 for a second-place finish.

The 4×100 relay team of Evans, Scott, Micheletti and Bingaman finished in second with a 45.08. Darrah, Dreyer, Howe and Jensen ran a 9:03.20 for a second-place finish in the 4×800.

Peterson finished second in the high jump at 6-00.00 and second in the triple jump at 41-05.00. Scott placed second in the long jump at 21-03.50.

For the girls, the 4×800 relay team of Anderson, Sowards, Cundy and Stokes ran a 10:13.09 for second place and Dondrea placed third in the high jump at 5-00.00.

On May 11 and 13 the Cougars will compete in the Cascade Conference Championships at Cedarcrest.
