MG, M-P split in City Track Championships

The M-P boys beat MG 81-63 but the MG girls got by the M-P 87-52 at the Marysville City Championships at Quil Ceda Stadium last Friday.

Winners for the M-P boys were: freshman Jordan Velasquez, 100 meters, 11.94; Bryan Sanders, 200, 23.62; Jeffrey Richner, 800, 2:05.81; Richner, 1600, 4:33.26; Tevor Stone, 3200, 10:48.09; sophomore Trae Tingelstad, 110 hurdles, 17.34; Sanders, Velasquez, Sergio Macias-Rossiter and Kevin Crumrine, 4 by 100 relay, 45.45; Cade Tucker, shot put, 49 feet 1.5 inches; Tucker, discus, 132-8; Jeff Roullier, javelin, 149-1; junior Jacob Elwood, high jump 5-10; freshman Jamaari Jefferson, long jump 19-8.25.

Winners for the MG boys were: Thomas McCormick, 400, 51.95; junior Jared Arquiza, 300 hurdles, 46.71; Oliver Schwab, Caden Palitz, Christian Balgos and Jawan Smith, 4 by 400 relay, 3:55.06; Josh Baker, pole vault, 12-0; sophomore Peyton Konkoski, triple jump, 38-6.

For the MG girls, winners were: Kiarra Green, 100, 13.07; Green, 200, 27.13; sophomore Jasmine Nguyen, 400, 1:04.95; Nguyen, 800, 2:32.24; Caitlyn Smith, 3200, 13:09.53; Sophie Alt, 100 hurdles, 17.34; Alt, 300 hurdles, 52.15; Tyshone Cole, Kayden English, Mikayla Chrisien and Madeline Grandbois, 4 by 200 relay, 1:54.16; junior Grandbois, shot put, 38-4; Mikhail Montez, discus, 112-4; junior Kate Roberts, javelin, 104-9; Faith Sherman, triple jump, 28-9.75.

For the M-P girls, winners were: junior Alexia Sandoval, 1600, 5:40.28; Jaylynn LesMasters, Summer Sanden, Cadence Jackson and Hannah Wagner, 4 by 100 relay, 55.15; Wagner, high jump, 4-10; sophomore Corianne Cross, pole vault, 10-0; junior Sanden, long jump, 16-7.
