DARRINGTON It took Hailey Wales approximately 20 seconds to make an impact in her first game playing varsity basketball. The highly touted freshman scored the Darrington Loggers first bucket in the Nov. 28 rout of the Cedar Park Christian Eagles. The Loggers got solid contributions from both Hailey and her sister Randi Wales and overcame a foul plagued opening night from their star Caitlin Pendergrass to win easily 48-31.
The Arlington wrestling team looked every bit the strong group it was predicted to be during the teams first meet of the year. The dual meet featured Stanwood, Shorewood, and Shorecrest with Arlington facing off against the latter two schools.
The Arlington High School Performing Arts Center will present a top level bodybuilding competition coming up Aug. 11.
ARLINGTON In a contest at Haller Middle School, the Arlington Wesco Youth League seventh-graders used their relentless pressure defense to beat Shorecrest 68-40.
Highland boys win overtime thriller, lose in semi-final
RENTON With everybodys season on the line the pressure at the 3A Regional wrestling championships was palpable.
ARLINGTON A determined group of boys basketball players from Arlingtons eighth-grade Wesco Youth League team took down the Shorecrest Scots 54-51 on Saturday Feb. 9. The game at Haller Middle School stayed competitive the whole way, with Arlington making some key plays down the stretch to win.
LACEY Darrington wrestling continued its strong showing this season by sending 10 wrestlers through the Westside Regional and on to state in Tacoma. The Washington State Mat Classic XX will be Feb. 15-16 and the Loggers will have a large contingent taking place in the two-day event.
An undefeated season looms even closer for the Stilly Valley senior Little League baseball team. After disposing of Marysville 6-1 to push their record to 18-0, the team needs only five more victories to run the table.
The Lady Loggers volleyball team made great strides from their 9-12 2005 record and nearly advanced to the 2B/1A state tournament.
