The Arlington Eagles improved their record by defeating the Marysville Getchell Chargers, 61-24, on Dec. 10. Coming off their narrow 45-42 victory against Stanwood Dec. 6, the Eagles claimed their third victory of the season defeating MG.
Lakewood High School lost both of its wrestling matches at the double-dual hosted by Marysville-Pilchuck High School.
It was a clash of rivals as two local high schools faced off in their season opener. The Eagles boys basketball team claimed their first win of the season by topping the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks in a decisive 68-42 victory.

ARLINGTON — The Arlington Runners Club’s Toys For Tots Christmas Run is set to start its race at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, with day-of-race registration starting at 9:45 a.m., but those who pre-register no later than Saturday, Nov. 30, will save $5 and get to reserve a T-shirt in their size.
Arlington High School seniors Morgan Ginnis and Ryan Walker both signed on the dotted line in the AHS Library on Wednesday, Nov. 13, as Ginnis pledged to swim for the University of New Mexico and Walker pledged to play baseball for Washington State University.
Arlington’s Nathan Beamer and Emma Janousek traveled to Pasco to compete in the 4A State Cross Country Meet on Nov. 9. Beamer finished in 51st place in his race, while Janousek finished in 59th place.
The Lakewood boys cross country team traveled to Pasco where they completed in the 2A State Meet Nov. 9, and despite high expectations, finished in ninth place.
After claiming second place in the 4A Wesco North regular season, the Arlington girls soccer team traveled to Lake Stevens on Nov. 2, where they faced Kamiak in the first round of the 4A District 1 Soccer Tournament. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they lost the loser-out game by a score of 1-0.
The Arlington boys and girls cross country teams traveled to South Whidbey Sept. 26 to compete in the Wesco League Championship meet, and both teams finished well enough to move on to the Nov. 2 Bi-District meet at Lincoln Park in Seattle.
The Lakewood girls soccer team is headed to the 2013 2A District 1/2 Girls Soccer Tournament on Nov. 2, at Bellingham’s Civic Stadium. They will face Squalicum at 1 p.m.
The Arlington Eagles hosted the Inglemoor Vikings from the KingCo conference Oct. 25 to finish off their regular season. The Eagle defense came out on Senior Night ready from the first whistle.
