he Arlington boys tennis team competed in the Wesco 4A North Division Tournament at Mount Vernon High School on Wednesday, Oct. 17, and advanced three players to the District 1 Tournament.
The Cougars have done it again. After seven consecutive victories, Lakewood’s football team managed to shake off the steady downpour of rain on Friday, Oct. 19, and pull out an impressive 58-6 win over the visiting Granite Falls Tigers.
ARLINGTON — As Washington state enters its third year in the Washington Cycling League, area high schoolers are gearing up for mountain bike race season. Fourteen students from Arlington, Lakewood and Burlington participated on the Lakewood and Arlington Composite Mountain Bike Teams last year, with Lakewood riders placing eighth and Arlington Composite placing 10th out of 21 teams overall.

LAKEWOOD — The largest cross country invitational in the state of Washington, the Hole in the Wall, is hosted each year by Lakewood High School — and this year was no exception as the school saw more than 2,000 runners and 72 schools compete on Saturday, Oct. 6.

It’s not every day that you see grown male athletes dressed in head-to-toe pink uniforms, but for the Everett Silvertips it’s par for the course during their annual “Pink the Rink” hockey game, which raises money for Providence Regional Medical Center’s Comprehensive Breast Center.

The Lady Eagles volleyball team had a tough time keeping up with Lake Stevens, the current Wesco North 4A leader, in a home game on Oct. 1 that ended in a 3-0 loss for Arlington.
Youth athletes in Arlington now have a place to train not only their bodies, but their hearts and minds as well.
