Kerr and Waldron make
Gleneagle look easy
Two golfers recently knocked in hole-in-ones at Gleneagle Golf Course in Arlington. One was by Paul Kerr on No. 4 with a nine iron. Kerrs hole-in-one came at the Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce Tourney.
They had wonderful prizes, said Paul Kerr. We got up on the tee, looking slightly uphill toward the hole. When I hit the ball one of the guys I was playing with said, That looks pretty good. When we got to the green there were only three balls on the surface, I figured my shot had gone long. When I couldnt find it long, I checked the cup and there it was.
The guys in the group went nuts, slapping Paul on the back and implying that Kerr would need to fund their 19th hole celebration.
Its been 27 years since I started playing golf, said Kerr. This is my first ever hole-in-one.
The second hole-in-one came from the seven iron of Scott Waldron on Saturday July 21 from the 141-yard No. 13 par three. Waldrons shot came in the Zipfiz Tournament, sponsored by the energy drink. The 26-year-old notched his first career hole-in-one while playing his final hole of the day in a shotgun style tournament.
We started on No. 14 so it was our last hole, said Waldron. It was a bit of disbelief and excitement at the same time. I checked behind the green in a sand trap, I thought I had overshot the pin. A couple minutes later one of my playing partners pulled the ball out of the cup.

Hoops Tourney Returns
