The Everett Explosion
The Everett Explosion announced recently that it will take on the Tacoma Jazz in two bonus away games at the Tacoma Dome, Friday, April 20 and Tuesday, May 15.
Explosion General Manager Nathan Mumm said, We were very reluctant to make changes to our schedule, but the opportunity to play in a great venue with a rich history in the northwest was too good to pass up.
The Explosion tips off its inaugural season on the road April 7 against the Lewis County Raptors. The first home game will be April 10 versus the Vancouver Volcanoes at 7 p.m. at the Everett Events Center. One more exhibition game will be held in Snohomish County March 24 at Monroe High School. The final exhibition game proceeds will benefit the Monroe High School athletic department.

Youth Volleyball League
Youth Volleyball registration has already begun. The United States Youth Volleyball League will run for eight weeks in Marysville at Allen Creek Elementary School from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 10-11 a.m. Saturdays beginning June 9. Sign up before April 1 and receive the early registration rate of $110. The USYVL is a co-ed instructional league for boys and girls ages 7-14. The organizations mission is to provide a fun environment for kids to learn the game as well as sportsmanship, cooperation and teamwork. Booster Club
On Saturday, March 24, the Lakewood Sports Booster Club will be holding its annual dinner and auction at the Viking Hall in Silvana. Tickets are on sale now by calling 425-293-6742 or download a ticket order form at the Lakewood High School web site www.lwsd.wednet.edu. All funds raised will go directly to support athletics at Lakewood School District. Auction items include art work, gift certificates, vacation packages and court-side tickets to the Seattle Sonics.
