no-hitter

In the first game she was eligible to play, Arlington pitcher Christina Rayner threw a no-hitter.
The Eagles offense backed her up as Arlington defeated Wesco South rival Shorecrest 7-0 in front of a home crowd March 22.
Rayner had been ineligible for the teams first four games thanks to an international trip by her select team that kept her short of the 10 practices needed to play, according to Washington Interscholastic Activities Association rules.
Despite Arlingtons seven runs, the teams sluggers kept quiet with just a double by Amanda Lyon and a triple by Kristen Allen.

Heise, Dewitte split meet honors

The Arlington boys golf team fell just a little short when they went head-to-head with Marysville at the Tomahawks home golf course, Cedarcrest.
By an average of just over one stroke per player, M-P topped Arlington, 424-430 in the March 19 meet.
Arlingtons top two golfers, Chad Heise and Matt Dewitte split medalist honors, shooting 80 strokes over the par 70 course. Sixth golfer Tyler Kent had the teams third-best score with 88 strokes, followed by Joe Cote with 90 and Austin Allen with 92. The team score is a combination of the five best individual scores, rendering number four Tanner Olsons score moot.
Arlington hosts Snohomish in its next home meet at Gleneagle Golf Course April 1.
