Tonight’s basketball games snowed out

Wrestling, swim meets Saturday also canceled; top placers advance to state anyway

While the snow has caused problems with some prep sporting events being played, for others it’s been a blessing.

For example, Saturday’s 3A regional wrestling tournament at Snohomish was canceled, meaning all the district placers advance to state.

However, boys basketball games at Marysville-Pilchuck and Marysville Getchell were canceled Friday night, along with the MG girls game.

Also, Saturday’s 3A regional swim meet, also at Snohomish, also was canceled. So those who obtained state-qualifying times in Friday’s preliminaries will advance to state.

Locals who placed in the top four at regionals and therefore advance to state in wrestling are:

Arlington: At 106 pounds, Daniel Heiss and Casten Tollenaar. At 113 pounds, Dorian Tollenaar. At 132 pounds, Caleb Abenroth. At 152 pounds, Sam Rush. At 160 pounds, Kristian Fairbanks. At 170 pounds, Levi Wiseman. At 182 pounds, Cole Hahn.

Marysville-Pilchuck: At 120 pounds, Tanner Lauzon At 126 pounds, Austin Davis. At 132 pounds, Nick Cantu. At 145 pounds, Isaiah Galindo. At 160 pounds Ahmad Humoud. At 170 pounds, Cayden White and Mauro Bejar. At 220 pounds, Ikaika Naweli. At 285 pounds, Jeff Roullier. Marysville Getchell: At 138 pounds, Trey Padgett. At 182 pounds, Edgar Duenas. At 195 pounds, Cheron Smith. At 285 pounds, Erick Duenes.
