MARYSVILLE – The Opera House has a plethora of public events taking place in April.
On April 14, LeRoy Bell and His Only Friends will perform.
Bell has shared the stage with musical greats such as B.B. King, Joe Cocker, Van Morrison, Barenaked Ladies and more. He has also written for legends Elton John, and Gladys Knight and The Pips. A few years ago, he was one of the top performers on The X Factor. His band plays smooth pop-soul melodies and hard-rocking beats. Tickets for the 7:30-9:30 p.m. show are $15.

On April 15, explore a classic fairytale from a fresh perspective as the Seattle Opera performs The Three Feathers. This new one-act children’s opera based on a Brothers Grimm story, with further inspiration from Mozart’s The Magic Flute, recounts the adventure in which a young woman discovers her hidden strengths. The production will be performed bilingually in Spanish and English. Performance begins at 2 p.m. Admission is free, but pre-register at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On April 18, the Opera House will have another free Open House from 6-8 p.m., but this one will have a special twist. Nearly 20 vendors will be on hand, featuring samples of appetizers, beautiful centerpieces, photo albums and other special event-related items. Chat with local florists, photographers, caterers, event planners, DJ’s and other event-related professionals. On April 19, Aardvarks United will perform at Live at the OH!, a monthly event featuring local bands. Doors open at 5 for the two-hour show that starts at half-hour later.
Cost is $5 at the door. Beer, wine, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are sold. Aardvarks in a classic rock dance band that also plays blues, alternative and even a little country and disco from the 1960s to the 2010s.
At the same time downstairs, Sip and Fuse takes place. This month, participants will learn the basics of glass fusing and create their own wind chime. More information, including cost, is available on the city website.
