Arlington hospital in lockdown after shooting

ARLINGTON – Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington was in lockdown Monday night after a gunshot victim was brought to the facility.

Jola Barnett, vice president of operations, said today that the “lockdown was precautionary, given today’s environment,” not knowing if someone might follow a victim to a hospital.

After the victim was brought in by emergency medical services, Barnett said, “We took steps to do a Level 3 lockdown,” which included screening visitors.

“People started coming into the facility, probably out of concern for the victim,” and we had limited staff so the precaution was set up to make sure everyone was safe, Barnett concluded.

The shooting victim was treated and released. The victim is not cooperating with police about how or where the shooting occurred, Marysville police said.
