Arrests made in jewelry theft at Arlington Open House

ARLINGTON – Arlington police detectives have arrested a 36 year-old Mercer Island man in connection to a theft that occurred during a real estate broker’s Open House.

The theft of more than $800 in jewelry was reported Oct. 6.

The homeowner had video cameras operating and submitted surveillance video of the suspects.

The suspect is being held in King County Jail on unrelated charges. King and Kitsap County sheriffs, and police in Mercer Island, Renton and Covington Police all have similar cases believed to be connected with the same suspect.

Theft charges have also been filed against a 37 year-old Des Moines woman in the Arlington case.

The agencies worked together to assemble evidence and information that was instrumental to the arrest in the Arlington case.

Additional charges against both suspects are expected.
