Cash, meth seized in Arlington drug bust

ARLINGTON – Police seized more than $2,300 in cash and almost 60 grams of methamphetamine in the arrest of a 39-year-old Arlington man Tuesday.

At about 11:50 p.m. Feb. 27, an Arlington police officer noticed a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot in the 3100 block of Smokey Point Drive.

Three people were in a vehicle parked in front of a business that had already closed.

The officer contacted the individuals and noted that one of them, the 39-year-old man, had money and a baggy visible in his pants pocket. The officer asked if the man would show what was in the baggy, and he displayed a Ziploc containing a large quantity of what appeared to be meth.

The man was arrested on possession of a controlled substance and booked into Snohomish County Jail in Everett. The other two people were released.

The suspect had over $2,300 in cash at the time of his arrest. The money has been seized for forfeiture as proceeds from illegal drug sales.

The meth was weighed at the Arlington Police Station and found to be 58 grams. The street value is estimated at $1,800.

Arlington police have seized the vehicle for a search warrant to continue the investigation.
