Steven Gary Birkestol, 59, born October 4, 1957, passed away in Everett, WA on April 02, 2017. Born in Arlington, WA to the late Gary Birkestol and Carol (maiden name Goodridge) Lindgren-Brooks, Steve was an elder of the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians. He was preceded in death by brother Jeffrey Birkestol and niece Rachel Birkestol. He is survived by siblings: Derek Birkestol, Bryan Birkestol, Victoria Yeager and Darcy Dreger. In his youth, Steve enjoyed motocross racing with his brothers. He tried his hand at various vocations. For the Stillaguamish Tribe Steve was a fish tagger, a Fisheries officer and also a tribal fisherman. Steve was a longtime collector of comic books and baseball cards. His greatest talent was his art. Steve could draw or paint anything, and it would be amazing. He was very deliberate and took his time and never thought any piece was good enough but of course it was. A memorial for Steve will be held at the Watershed Restaurant Banquet Room in the Angel of the Winds Casino on Saturday, May 13, from noon to 2 p.m.
