Arlington, MG excel in track; Eagles beat M-P, MG in golf; Lakewood softball keeps winning (slide show)

ARLINGTON

Track

In a home meet against Everett and Lynnwood, winners for the Eagle boys were: junior Cade Younger in the 400 at 53.38 seconds; freshman Brandon Moore in the 800 at 2 minutes, 8.78 seconds; junior Chance Pearston in the 1600 at 4:36.64; Blake Landry in the 3200 at 9:58.05; sophomore Jaden Roskelley in the 110 hurdles with a clocking of 17.2; freshman Parker Duskin in the 300 hurdles with a time of 45.36; the 4 by 400 relay of Younger, Kristian Fairbanks, Aiden Emerson and Nathaniel Alexander in 3:39.24; Fairbanks in the javelin with a toss of 149-3; junior William Abram with a leap of 5-10 in the high jump; junior Karson Byle with a pole vault of 10-6; and Joshua Gutierrez with a leap of 39-7.5 in the triple jump.

For the Eagle girls: sophomore Jersey Heiss won the 100 in 13.68 seconds; Kelsey Mutton took the 200 in 28.10; Mutton also won the 400 in 1:02.81; in the 800 junior Anne Louise Fernandez won in 2:34.63; she also took the 1600 in 5:31.64; junior Maggie Delaney won the 3200 in 12:09.64; Reagan Beaton won the 100 hurdles in 17.77; freshman Audrey Jay took the 300 hurdles in 53.10; in the 4 by 200 relay Sarah French, Kambriella Smith, Heiss and Mutton won in 1:50.44; Beaton, Smith, Fernandez and Mutton won the 4 by 400 in 4:26.61; junior Julia Parra took the shot put with a toss of 39 feet, 10 inches; she also won the discus at 121-4; and she also won the javelin with a throw of 102-4; and Heiss also won the long jump with a leap of 14-11.

Girls golf

At Walter Hall Golf Course in Everett Thursday, Arlington easily beat Cascade, Mountlake Terrace and Mount Vernon. The Eagles had 203 with second-place Cascade way behind at 298.

Boys golf

Arlington hosted a Wesco 3A North match at Gleneagle Thursday and placed third behind Everett and Snohomish. Marysville-Pilchuck was fifth and Marysville Getchell last in the team standings.

Scores were low on the par 35 course with two Seagulls tying for medalist, each shooting 35.

For Arlington, Riley Morris wasn’t too far behind with a 49. Caden Smith and Jayden Fullerton both shot 40, while Nate Metcalf and Trent Nobach each shot 43.

For M-P, Matt Allen also shot a 39, with Jeff Reynolds getting 44, Matt Krapf 45 and Connor Peterson 46.

For MG, Nathan Bickle had a 49, Chase McGowne 50, Nick Scharbach 62 and Emryk Flitz 68.

MARYSVILLE

Track

At Mount Vernon High School, MG edged Mount Vernon 61 to 60 and also beat Oak Harbor with 41 Thursday in the boys meet.

The Chargers also won for the girls with 67, followed by OH with 55 and MV with 49.

Winners for the Charger boys included: sophomore Cole Norton in the 400 meters in 54.11 seconds; Thomas McCormick and Evan Krautkremer tied in the 800 in 2 minutes, 5 seconds; McCormick, Krautkremer, Dominic Andrews and Kameron Wilkes in the 4 by 400 relay in 3:41.9; Jesse Donk with a throw of 126 feet in the javelin; sophomore Peyton Konkoski with a leap of 5 foot 6 in the high jump; and Konkoski again in the triple jump at 35-11.

For the MG girls: freshman Jayda Pittman won the 200 in 29.26; sophomore Jasmine Nguyen won the 3200 in 11 minutes, 35 seconds; junior Sophie Alt took the 300 hurdles in 52.65; in the 4 by 200 relay, finishing in 1:51.25 were Kiarra Green, Tyshone Cole, Beni Luboya and Madeline Grandbois; Grandbois also won the shot put with a toss of 34 feet, 5.5 inches; and Pittman also took the high jump with a mark of 4-6.

Girls golf

At the Whidbey Country Club, M-P beat Oak Harbor 207 to 216 Thursday.

LAKEWOOD

Softball

Natalie Krueger went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and 4 runs batted in to lead Lakewood to a 6-5 win over Sedro-Woolley at home Thursday.

Olivia Poulton went 2-4 with a triple and 2 RBI. Riley Molloy also went 2-4 and scored twice.

Riley Mae Swanson again was the winning pitcher for the Cougars.

Tennis

Burlington-Edison blanked Lakewood 7-0 in a Northwest 2A match Thursday.
