M-P pounds Everett; MG girls edge Seagulls by 1 in golf

Marysville-Pilchuck has had some tough outings this year, but it came up with a big win Wednesday at Everett 16-12.

The win puts the Tommies at 4-6 overall, 4-4 in Wesco play. Everett is 8-5, 6-5 in conference action.

M-P pounded out 12 hits and took advantage of five Seagull errors were the victory.

The Tomahawks scored two runs in the first, but Everett tied it in the bottom of the second. M-P scored three in the third and expanded that lead with seven runs in the fifth. The Seagulls rallied for four in the bottom of the inning, chasing M-P starter Jordan Justice. M-P added another run in the sixth, but the home team rallied for another four in the bottom of that inning, making it 13-12. But the Tommies scored three in the last inning, while reliever Carson Serge held Everett scoreless to take the win.

Treven Southard and Cole Brammer both went 3-for-4 to lead M-P. Southard scored four times and had 2 RBI, while Brammer had a double, scored a run, and also knocked in two runs.

Girls golf

It couldn’t have been any closer.

The MG team beat Everett 199 to 200 at Legion Memorial Golf Course in Everett Wednesday.

Charger Nicole Phengmuang was the medalist on the Par 35 course with a 44. Also for MG, Chloe Braaten shot a 51, while Natalie Furness and Rozlynn Edwards both shot a 52. Soccer

Marysville Getchell played Everett to a 2-2 draw Wednesday in Wesco soccer action.

ARLINGTON

Softball

Meadowdale is undefeated in Wesco play, and it showed the Eagles why Wednesday.

Kate Houghton pitched a no-hitter over five innings, striking out 12, and the home team pounded out 16 hits off two Arlington pitchers in an 11-0 win.

Arlington dropped to 3-6, 2-3 in league.

Soccer

Wesco powerhouse Snohomish blanked Arlington Wednesday 5-0.

Burlington-Edison jumped all over Lakewood pitching to whip the Cougars 18-4 Wednesday.
