Many fellow students and their parents remembered the unique characteristics (a passion for sports and an artistic bent, as well as a good sense of humor) of 10-year-old Tyler J. Emory at the Arlington Free Methodist Church in Arlington Dec. 2 and a memorial gathering for the 11-year-old, Kyler Grant Opstrup-Williams will be held at Loyal Heights Community Hall at 3 p.m. Dec. 5.
Recently I’ve written about our continuing efforts to enhance and improve the Web sites for The Marysville Globe and Arlington Times. Daily updates, video reports, photo slideshows and commenting are just some of additions we’ve made to the Web sites.
As we head into the holiday season, Safe Kids Snohomish County and the Marysville Fire District want to help you keep your family safe. Children are often injured at home, where they should feel safest. There are even more dangers lurking this time of year when injuries range from burns and scalds, poisonings and home fires. Keep this in mind: Nothing is as important as parental supervision for children. As they develop through life, they will need different levels of supervision as they come up against different dangers. Here are just a few suggestions:
School Board Sets Goals. The school board set annual goals in student achievement, discipline, multicultural respect, and facilities. The board also asked that we focus on measurable outcomes and bring regular updates on progress through the year. Board goals can be found on the district Web site at www.msvl.k12.wa.us.
