The third annual Lakewood Legacy Netbuster Tournament started off with a bang as 48 teams of different age groups and genders fought for the tournament’s championship. To start off the event, the Legacy teams were in full form; showing off their array of talent and tricks in many different age groups.
ARLINGTON — A public hearing at the July 21 City Council meeting will provide members of the community a chance to express their opinions about a number of issues. The city is considering some amendments to its comprehensive plan and some are being considered at the July 21 hearing while others are continued to Aug. 18.

ARLINGTON — A steady stream of folks wandered down the avenue through the middle of the Arlington Street Fair over the weekend, checking out the more than 80 vendors and munching on kettle corn, sipping on sodas and exploring activities offered by nonprofit groups and getting free frisbees and notepads from realtors.

The recent decision by Arlington city officials and elected officials to place the issue of the early termination of Police Chief John Gray’s employment with city in the Consent Agenda portion of the City Council’s July 7 meeting had me wondering what is the definition of “Routine”?
ARLINGTON — The city of Arlington terminated Police Chief John Gray’s employment contract Monday night. The action was tucked away in the consent agenda of the July 7 Arlington City Council meeting agenda.
The Arlington Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary would like to thank all the kids who endured the heat and participated in the 2008 Arlington Kiddies Parade. It’s fun to see the creativity that kids and parents put into it and making this event so special. Ryan Edwards, an Arlington resident, plays Lefou, the nutty sidekick of Gaston, in his sixth show with the Stanwood-Camano Island-based musical theater group, Lyric Light Opera, which is presenting “Beauty and the Beast,” the story of a strong-willed young woman who, through the power of love, breaks a spell that turned a handsome young prince into a hideous beast.
Absolutely unfair is the sentence that non-violent “3-Strikers” are serving in prison after harming no one. There is no equal justice under this law. We have those spending their entire lives in expensive prisons who do not deserve this harsh punishment given the heinous crimes those who really do deserve it commit.
I’m looking for 100 reasons to celebrate the Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber marks its 100-year anniversary in 2008 and this calls for a celebration.
