As the Commissioners of Snohomish County Hospital District No. 3, we have been elected by the residents of the hospital district to guide the actions of Cascade Valley Hospital.
We have been operating a business in Arlington since 1986. This community has been a large part of our success and in turn we want to support our community in passing Proposition 1 on the May 15 ballot to upgrade and improve Cascade Valley Hospital.
One of the primary purposes of our public schools is to help every child become an engaged citizen who is willing and able to actively participate in our democracy. A high school diploma is our seal of approval that a young person has demonstrated their readiness for this responsibility. There are many ways to measure this readiness. It undermines the core values of democracy to use a single test to deny this right-of-passage to students because of their minority or socioeconomic status. This is effectively what a high-stakes WASL does.
I just sent this letter to the city of Marysville. I think the public has a right to know what they are up to.
The Marysville Community Food Bank has just been blessed with incredible community support in gathering donations from the Postal Workers Food Drive. We thank our citizens again for giving over 35,000 pounds of food.
Thank you for participating in Kiddies Parade
Recently The Arlington Times and The Marysville Globe published an article concerning the possible location of a transit center in the center of the retail area in Smokey Point. The article indicated that Community Transit would not proceed with their proposal if the project met with local opposition. This letter is written with the intent to convey some of the reasons why this proposal will be met with opposition from the local business community.

Where do we begin in thanking all the people involved in passage of the bond for renovation and new construction at Cascade Valley Hospital? The voters should be given accolades for recognizing the need for expansion of the emergency department and other areas of the hospital. You provided the votes needed to make it happen.
With the Immigration Bill looming in the Senate we are on the path to a one-party system. What would be the ramifications, if true? With the election of Thomas Jefferson, America became a two-party system with a smooth transition from one political partys leadership to the other. Through wise compromise, our U.S. Senate has managed to keep the two-party system.
On behalf of the Arts Alive Committee I would like to extend a huge thank you to the many community members and businesses that made the grand opening celebrations at the Linda M. Byrnes Performing Arts Center such a huge success.
Saturday, May 12, was the annual Letter Carrier Food Drive. And once again it was a big success for the Arlington Community Food Bank. Donations from the community totaled 15, 378 pounds of assorted food items.
