Uniforms in middle school?

I am taking a moment to express my strong disapproval of uniforms for the middle school or high school students. I have two students in the Marysville School District, one entering seventh grade at Cedarcrest and one entering 12th at M-PHS.

I do not want the school district to mandate specific articles of clothing for my children to wear. I do not want the district to tell me how I must spend our family units wages on clothing items.
There are enough rules and regulations in place at the district. I disagree with punishing all students because of a few bad apples. Additionally, there are enough personal expenses for family units, without the district invading our families personal decisions.
If the district must superimpose unnecessary rules onto my family, I express that currently I dont have to spend any money for back to school, as my children are well outfitted. A change to the regulations for the 2007/08 school season would not give family units enough time to allot finances for new clothing purchases. This would cause a financial burden.
I plead with you to let the children maintain their individuality. Children, like snowflakes, are innately different, so should their clothing choices be. I urge board members to vote No.
