Utmost importance

I am writing this letter to let you know how important the upcoming hospital bond issue is to our community. Last year we were blessed with a beautiful granddaughter who was delivered at Cascade Valley Hospital. The birthing process was handled wonderfully by Dr. Hoffman and the staff. We even had the luxury of being the only family on the maternity ward that night. As the night wore on though, it got increasingly cold, (this was in February), to make matters worse, the air vent was blowing cold air directly overhead. The nurse on duty that night came in and brought us extra blankets and told us the heat was not operating on the floor that night.

We talked about our best course of action and decided that we would take turns holding the baby on us under several blankets to keep her warm enough. Taking our turns allowed our daughter and me to get some sleep when we werent holding her. It was a long, cold night. In the morning, because it was so cold, they moved us down to the second floor as it was warmer there. We had just gotten settled down there when they came to get us and take us back up to the maternity ward because maintenance had brought some space heaters. As you can imagine, our stay became comical, but successful. My whole point in sharing this adventure is the hospital needs to have work done on it to make it a better place to serve our community. With the improvements that are planned, Cascade Valley Hospital can be a wonderful asset for our community as it has been in the past. I urge to voters to vote yes for the bond issue this spring. Ballots need to be mailed back my May 15. Lets keep our hospital up to date and able to serve us.
