SMOKEY POINT — The Arlington Arts Council is staging its second annual Art at the Plant Farm Show, Sept. 12-13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, at the Smokey Point Plant Farm.

“The colorful plant farm provides the perfect backdrop for artists from the Snohomish, Island and Skagit counties, who come together for this once-a-year festival of the arts,” said event spokesperson Louise Magno, who noted that the art represented this year should include glass-blown, pottery, photography, watercolors, acrylics, oils, pastels, drawings, woodwork, sculpture, jewelry and stained glass. “This is more than just a gathering of fine artists. It is an event not to be missed.”

Live music for this year’s event will be provided by Paul Nyenhuis, on his handmade flutes, and jazz and blues artist Tony Magno, a.k.a. “the Trumpet Man.”

Food for the event comes courtesy of the Apple Dumpling Gang, whose fare ranges from gyros, fajitas and quesadillas to apple dumplings with ice cream for dessert. The Espresso Stop will also offer lattes, teas, muffins, cookies and hot chocolate, as well as old-fashioned kettle corn.
