Ex-pro wrestler back to give addiction message to schools, public

MARYSVILLE – Former professional wrestler Marc Mero brought his anti-bullying message to the area a few years ago, and local officials were so impressed they are bringing him back.

He will be speaking at schools Oct. 8-10, but that final night at 7 p.m. he will give his Marysville-Lakewood Community Night presentation at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, 5611 108th St. NE.

Mero, an ex-WWE Wrestling Champion and Author of “How to be the Happiest Person on the Planet,” reached the pinnacle of sports-entertainment success – then lost it all. The way he came back from that inspires many.

Everyone faces adversity. “It’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s how many times you get back up. You can do anything you set your mind to,” he says in promotional material.

Mero inspires people to examine life choices. Listeners feel a greater sense of appreciation toward their relationships and the “gift of time” – and are empowered to make a difference in their personal life, school, career and community. As the founder of the nonprofit Champion of Choices, Mero dedicates his life to helping others be the “Champion” they’re destined to be.

Mero will speak to M-P students Oct. 8, along with sessions at Cedarcrest and Marysville middle schools. On Oct. 9 he will be at Marysville Getchell, Totem Middle School and at the Tulalip Campus. Before the public presentation Oct. 10, he will be in Lakewood.
