STILLWATER, OKLA. — Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences welcomed the Class of 2017 with a White Coat Ceremony held recently at the Stillwater Community Center. Among the 82 students in the class was Ian Frye of Arlington, Wash.

The traditional white coat symbolizes the first step of many milestones these veterinary medical students will achieve as they begin their journey to earn a DVM degree.

“These students have worked hard to get to this point and they deserve congratulations,” said Chris Ross, DVM, PhD, professor and associate dean for academic affairs. “There is also plenty of hard work ahead of them and they will change tremendously as they progress toward their professional goals.”

The 82 member class is comprised of 56 Oklahoma residents and 26 nonresidents representing the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas and Washington.

Frye earned his B.S. degree in Biology from the Whitworth University. He is the son of Timothy and Lee Ann Frye of Arlington.
